London4Europe Committee

The London4Europe Committee is officially elected by London4Europe members at the Annual General Meeting.
All Committee members are volunteers who give up their time to help support London4Europe and wider European Movement UK initiatives. The Committee is made of passionate pro-Europeans from different professional backgrounds and a range of political persuasions.
The Committee meets around once per month to discuss London4Europe activities.

London4Europe Committee, elected February 2017:

L4E Committee - Nick HopkinsonNick Hopkinson is chairman of London4Europe. During the 2016 referendum campaign he gave 30 expert talks and debates on the case to remain in the European Union. He writes regularly about Brexit and tweets regularly @London4Europe. During his 23 year career at Wilton Park, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s policy forum, he served as Director. He specialises in all aspects of the Brexit process and European Union policies.

European Movement - London4Europe Committee - Richard WassellRichard Wassell is the London4Europe treasurer and European Movement (EM) regional representative for London, in which capacity he is determined to develop local EM cells across London’s boroughs. He was chairman of Central London Europe Group (predecessor to L4E) 2000-3 and has been actively involved with EM and many kindred organisations (UK and across Europe) since 1974. European Movement - London4Europe Committee - Anna Newton DunnAnna Newton Dunn spent almost her career life working in TV, first at ITV and then at the BBC. As a Producer she was responsible for many current affairs programmes and worked on several general election editions. Before retiring she also worked on the Britain in Europe Campaign and at Conservative Mainstream, supporting a group of pro EU MPs. Anna started and ran the European Movement’s Speaker Service for many years until the referendum on UK’s membership of the EU in 2016.

L4E Committee - Michael RombergMichael Romberg is a retired senior civil servant who specialised in public finance and worked in HM Treasury and the Home Office.

European Movement - London4Europe Committee -Dr Monica ThrelfallDr Monica Threlfall was Reader in European Politics at London Metropolitan University before joining the Global Policy Institute in London in early 2017. Dr Threlfall has published widely on social movements, politics and European integration. She has submitted evidence to the House of Commons Select Committee on Exiting the EU and is currently writing blog articles arguing against Brexit.

London 4 Europe Committee - Andy PyeAndy Pye has been an editor and technical writer serving UK manufacturing industry for nearly 40 years. He is currently Managing Editor of Controls, Drives and Automation and editor of Environmental Engineering, two leading bimonthly titles. He also writes directly for several engineering companies and PR agencies, providing technical copy and website content. Andy is a Cambridge University graduate in Materials Engineering.

Richard Newcombe - London4Europe CommitteeRichard Newcombe has worked in education for over 30 years, including as a deputy head in a large multicultural comprehensive school in East London. He is currently involved with Parkinsons UK, and is a trustee of the charity Daffodils. A former local Labour councillor in the London Borough of Redbridge for nine years, Richard was actively involved in the referendum campaign speaking at schools and community groups in the his local area.

She has worked at the European Parliament and as an EU policy consultant. She manages the London4Europe website and Twitter account @London4Europe
